Batromeo James

Batromeo is a performing artist working in contemporary dance and traditional dance. In the past 3 years he has performed at Time 2 Dance festival in Dar es Salaam,  East African Nights of  Tolerance festival in Rwanda and the Tasuba college festival in Bagamoyo.

His most recent work has been with the Bahati Art Group where he was a selected dancer in their performance “Bahati & Jasiri” and performed at the National Museum of Dar es Salaam.

After working with choreographers Maura Morales, Wesley Ruzibiza, Sanna Cleva, Johnny Autin  and Soraya Thomas, he is now part of a two-year exchange project between Kazya dance in Mayotte and Muda Africa in Tanzania where they are jointly creating a dance productions addressing deforestation that will tour primary and secondary schools in both countries.

Batromeo is passionate about sharing his dance skills with the youth in his community. After following the AMDA and Panta Rei teacher training courses, he set up a weekly dance class for youth living in Bunju, Tegeta.
