Ibrahim Zethy

Ibrahim Zethy is an award-winning dancer, event organizer and a clothes designer from Rwanda.

Co-founder of NDAGANZA DANCE ACADEMY from 2018 until now, he grew up in a community which is based on street culture and he lived a life full of music and dance from an early age.

He started working with afro dance from the age of 15 and gained experience in different styles such as House dance, Krump, Hip hop, dancehall and Contemporary dance attending workshops and master classes from various dance organizations.  

In 2017 to 2018 Ibrahim worked for a dance program empowering the young Rwandan talented dancers from the city of Kigali at the Club Rafiki youth center.

He received an invitation from Kultur I väst in Gothenburg, Sweden,  where he conducted workshops for professional dancers.

In 2019 he had the opportunity to go to Japan for a cultural exchange project and in that same year he opened his own dance academy, Ndaganza, in Rwanda, where he is a role model for youth at risk, especially those at risk of being exposed to minor crimes and unexpected pregnancies.

He uses dance to help them heal and express themselves.

Ibrahim is known for his well-built foundation, flexible movement and creative choreographies which combine his own type of Afro dance with urban dances.

Ibrahim is keen to share his experience and explore his arts and creativity with the rest of the world.
