Mushimire Regis

Mushimire Regis is a dance-movement artist born and raised in Rwanda. He started training online at age 16 and attended workshops in contemporary and hip-hop dance. His first live performance was in Kigali summer fest 2019.

He then started teaching urban dance in Kigali. He worked in a piece called Boy Band by French choreographer Matthieu Nieto in collaboration with Amizero dance Kompagnie and supported by French Institut Kigali. He was also part of the piece called Re birth created by Mashirika and the American choreographer Lyric Jackson, performed during Ubumuntu Art Festival 2021.

His ambition in dance is to create different experiences through movement. To him every style of movement is another way to tell a story with his body, and that is what he loves about dance: it connects people both physically and emotionally. Being able to share this connection through his art is the biggest blessing of his life.
