Asha Mussa Mohamed is a performing artist in the field of traditional and contemporary dance from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. During her 3-year diploma in dance at the Muda Africa dance school, she co-founded ‘Girls Power’ an all-female dance company aimed at supporting and empowering young female dancers who are still in low numbers in Tanzania. With this group she has performed at several festivals including the Sauti Za Busara music festival, the Zanzibar International film festival and the Haba na Haba dance festival.

Asha gained experience working with choreographers such as Johnny Autin (UK, France), Ian Mwaisunga (Tanzania), Robert Ngoroma (Tanzania), Yolanda Gutierrez (Germany, Mexico),  Johannes Wieland (Germany), Julie Larisoa (Madagascar) Robert Guy (Norway/ England ) and Aida Colmenero Diaz (Spain/Senegal). She currently works with the Shine dance company in Dar es Salaam as a dancer and choreographer.
